5 days to Remember : Day 1 – Ktm to Narayanghadh

Traveling, a great form of Learning… I’ve traveled a bit in my country and seen many inspiring things but those i like most are places of natural beauty – mountains, the jungle, countryside, waterfalls, etc. to name a few. After this trip, another place with natural beauty & jungle will be added to my list.
No matter in a large group or with few friends, traveling is a great fun & refreshment. This time we planned to go to ‘Chitwan National Park’ for few days and proposed the college management for transportation facility 2 days prior to the tour date. We hope for the positive response but they denied after a day. We didn’t got even a moral support but they tried to cancel the tour till last hour. Our refreshment plan became the drama. Our hope to see ‘Lotus on the desert’ was all over.
Despite all those, 3 of us (Bikash, Bipen n’ Me) convinced the friends to go by public bus or a reserved bus, most of them agreed that day, and we have planned to start the trip by 14:30 next day.
NEXT DAY
I was at college by 7:00 with my bag packs. Then, the drama of my friends began… they quit the trip one by one. !@#$%^&*(). At the end only 3 were left. What we say is what we do… no matter those F****** friends join us or not. This was the top of my anger.
Bipen and Me were already with bag packs so we went to Bikash’s room. He prepared the bag. After all we were ready to kick off. We came to Bagbazar, withdrawn money from NCC Bank, brought some light foods and join the micro bus to Kalanki (from where we can get bus to Narayanghadh). At arround 16:00 we were on the bus, which was in fact a ‘local’ bus! to Narayandhadh.
We left Kalanki after nearly 15 mins. After 10-15 mins a van carrying water jars collied with our bus from behind. Luckily no big harm but it stopped us nearly 30 mins. The bus took the Prithivi Highway (Kathmandu to Pokhara) which is a 210 km stretch of narrow road through the mountains. This highway joins the capital with major cities of Nepal, it is in fact a entry road to the capital. We have to cross halfway of that highway then have to join Mugling-Narayanghadh way from Mugling.
So interesting, that local bus have TV on it… so our time was passing easily. At first they showed a new nepali movie ‘Mission Love in Sikkim’… so frustrating actors & actress… frustrating story… we gave it 0/10. We watched it only till the INTERVAL… We stopped at Malekhu then had some fishes & potato curry… It was already 18:30. We left Malekhu in a while. That frustrating movie was also changed. Then after we watched some parts of few movies (Maine Pyar Kiya, Kismat Connection etc.). We reached Narayandhadh at 20:15 passing Kurintar, Mugling n’ Rampur. We were happy.
We have to find lodge for that day’s rest. We went on that mission. It took nearly 45 mins. After all a lodge was managed. We kept all the bags, be fresh and wait till the dinner with some drinks and 25% for me. he he he he… It lasts nearly half an hour. Everything was going fine except some back pressure by Bipen… he he he … 
. That was an awesome night full of fun n’ enjoyment. At around 23:30 everybody were on the bed for good night sleep, but imagining the fun for next day…

Type: Single day, Self guided Bike tour [Nov 08 2009 : 10 AM to 9 PM]

Highlights: Balaju-Tapoban-Kakani-Ranipauwa-Trishuli-Galchhi-Naibise
SUNDAY, the holiday… so we were expecting some enjoyments but what to do was not yet fixed. I Woke up at around 8 AM, be fresh & had Lunch. Bipen was already at my place at around 9:30 AM. I called Bimal & we met at a Tea shop in Kalopul. Then after I called Sunil and told him to come at that location. At around 10-15 minutes both guys were there. Then we planned to had our holiday at Tapoban (Nearly a hour from there) we all agreed upon that and started the journey. We went passing Balaju & Nagarjun Jungle. On the way to Tapoban, Bipen proposed to go to Trishuli (~65 Kms.) we calculated the time & immediately agreed upon it.
Actual excitement Begin from there. Me & sunil were in a bike and Bipin & Bimal in another one. We enjoyed a breathtaking panoramas, beautiful Himalayan ranges on the way. Beautiful view of Langtang Himalayan range is clearly visible from Kakani. Trail till Kakani was to the up and after that the trail was to the down. After 15 minutes of down trail, we stopped at ‘Ranipauwa’ had some food & clicked some photographs. Biking in the Bending small roads was definitely a great challenge. We really enjoyed the way. We reached Trishuli at around 1:30 hrs passing different beautiful places & enjoying the nature. Going through Trishuli Bazar we went through the dusty road towards dam side. We really enjoyed that place, and took some adventurous photographs & videos.
Till then we were too hungry so we came back to Trishuli Bazar & had nice lunch (Buff Sekuwa, Chicken Sekuwa, Peanuts, MOMO etc.) & drinks at ‘Hajur ko Sekuwa’. Singing, Dancing etc. made the enjoyment even better. We enjoyed there till 4:30 PM.
Then it was the time to return to own place. We started our back trip. We were not returning from the same way. Our return route was Galchhi-Naubise-Thankot then Ktm. That route was somehow difficult. The way till Galchhi is completely with the Trishuli river. After half an hour we stopped at a place & went to the Trishuli river beach. Open space, river flowing… evening dusk… that moment was so nice. We took photographs keeping the camera on Tripod. Spending nearly half an hour we continued our back trip. Journey passing the dusty road, muddy road, stony road felt really adventurous.
We reached Galchhi at around 6:30 we all were tired with bike ride in कच्चि road. We take some rest and enjoyed delicious Fish there. Spending some half an hour we started again. Environment was so cold. And it was much colder in Bike. We still need to pass ~4o km of Prithivi Highway to reach Kathmandu. Experiencing the damaged trails of Nepalese Highway we reached our place at around 8:30 PM.
Bipen dropped me near my room. It was already 9 PM when I reached my room. I be fresh, changed the clothes full of dust & had my dinner. I downloaded the photos to my Laptop go through it. I was feeling the same excitement while viewing photos & watching videos as our enjoyment that afternoon.
At arround 10:30 PM, I was already feeling that adventure & excitement in my dream.

- Marriage(A Card Game) Begins (Bipin, Bikash, Bhanu, Prashanna, Shankar)… rooms for other members was already fixed except us(Bikash, Bipin, Rabi Sir & Me) & we were lacking a single room so open Sleeping place was managed for 4 of Us in front of the counter. After few minutes bed was ready.

- Marriage still Continue.. Rabi sir & me already in the bed… After few minutes 4 boys arrived at hotel, stayed in the table, Ordered Drinks (Local ठर्रा)… the hotel staff served it in ‘Signature’s Bottle… Boys started drinking, Time passes by… everything was going fine…
After nearly an hour…
I woke up with the sound of cracking glass… as the effect of drinks increases, one from those 4 boys hit the glass on the floor in his anger… they were friends but from then onwards they started speech fighting…

- Rabi sir went to the upstairs room so I was sleeping alone covering till half of the head because it was too cold… They were still making loud noises and frens still playing cards…
After 10 to 15 minutes…
I was half asleep facing my face to the bed… a terrific sound came… that was the sound of a breaking bottle… the boy who cracked the glass earlier again hit the Bottle of Signature in the wall in the side of our bed… TERROR! TERROR!! TERROR!!! Our bed was full of the broken bottle pieces & some bad smell… as I was sleeping there those pieces hit my head also… I woke up suddenly … I removed small pieces of glass from my hand & without making further delay I took my cell phone from bed & went to the bathroom. I cleaned my head… Thanks God!!! Those broken materials just hit my hair… nothing wrong inside… I came out of the bathroom & directly went to the friend’s room & told that entire terrific story… Other frens who were playing cards also left that terrific room & went to another room… There was no sleep in my eye… Only after few hours I made sleep & so do my frens…

- Left that Lodge… went to the bus park kept all bag packs there and had tea in nearby tea shop. Then we all went to Custom office to get one day pass to enter in Khasha, China. We filled the form & queued to get the stamp on the form…

- We got the one day Visa. Then Mission China Begins…

- We entered to China showing Citizenship card & stamped form through ‘Miteri Pul’ (Friendship Bride – Bridge which joins Nepal & China). We managed a vehicle just to visit main Khasha Bazzar which was approximately 10 Km far from ‘Miteri Pull’ it wasn’t our shopping destination.

- We reached our destination . We started roaming around. We were too early so shops were not yet opened. We had light breakfast, bakery items which were good but contain too much sugar. All things (Clothes, Cell phone, Laptop etc.) in the shops were branded and were too much expensive.

- We came back. There was a Market at around 500m distance from Miteri Pul, It was so called supermarket (I forget the name) but nothing different from Bhrikuti-Mandap. Ktm’s China Town Supermarket is far better than that. All started shopping as they need. I didn’t found anything attractive there and realized, ‘Khasha is not a shopping destination, its just a Blanket destination’.

- All shopping were finished, we came back to Nepal, had some foods and begin the tour ‘Back to Ktm’. After few minutes we stopped at ‘Tatopani – place where we can get natural Hot Water’. We just washed our face & get started again.
